Richard has been selected as your local Conservative candidate for the County Council elections in May 2025.
Since retirement Richard has been actively involved in running a small business and with voluntary work with local charities. In 2019 and 2023 Richard was elected as a
District Councillor, representing the Wicklewood Ward on South Norfolk Council and is a Member of its Cabinet responsible for both finance and resources.
Richard’s professional career was in the fire service spanning 37 years, ultimately becoming Norfolk’s Chief Fire Officer. Richard was also a Norfolk County Council
Director, overseeing the fire service, crime and disorder, trading standards and emergency planning for the county. Your safety remains one of Richard’s top
priorities and he has both the knowledge and understanding to make a real difference.
He has the skills and experience to represent you as your County Councillor. He understands how local government operates and has served at the highest level as
both a Council officer and as an elected Member in Norfolk.
