A by-election is to be held in the area around Breckland’s biggest village, following the sudden resignation of one of its district councillors last month.
Our conservative candidate and local man, Paul Plummer has stepped forward and hopes to be able to serve his local community as a Conservative councillor.
The area covered by the ward includes not only Mattishall - one of Norfolk’s biggest villages - but also East Tuddenham, Yaxham, Garvestone and Hardingham, among other places.
Paul Plummer lives in Garvestone. His family moved to Mattishall in the late 1960's and they immediately became deeply involved in the Mattishall and Yaxham community.
In 1990, Paul started his own business of welding and fabrication and ran that for 25 years, employing many local people.
Paul has completed two terms as a Parish Councillor in Mattishall. Paul has been married to Shirley for 42 years and they have a daughter.
Paul said “I am proud to have grown up and live in the beautiful Mattishall area. I stand ready to serve all the residents to the very best of my abilities. I will always be available to discuss an issue or problem, no matter how big or small.
